Guy F. Swearingen, 59, employe of R. R. Donnelley & Sons Co. for almost 37 years, died at 2 a.m. Tuesday at Culver Hospital where he had been a patient since Nov. 21. Mr. Swearingen, who lived at 202 S. Barr St., was a pressman in the letterpress department at Donnelleys. He had last worked on Aug. 23. Born Jan. 6, 1904, at New Market, he was the son of John L. and Bertha Linn Swearingen. He was married June 18, 1929, to Vivian Booker, and they had lived in Crawfordsville since that time. Mr. Swearingen was a member of the First Christian Church and had been active in its affairs. He was a deacon and member of the official board at the time of his death. He was graduated from New Market High School and was a member of the Elks and Modern Woodman Lodges. The survivors include the widow; a son, Thomas G. Swearingen of Fort Wayne; two sisters, Mrs. Ruth Fink of Crawfordsville and Mrs. Gladys Scott of New Market and a brother, Edward Swearingen of New Market. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Bright Funeral Home, with Rev. Howard F. Miller, pastor of the First Christian Church, in charge. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. Wednesday.
